by Earth’s Choice, requesting a review under Kansas State Preservation Law Review [K.S.A. 75-2724] for the placement of an illuminated sign above the lower main entrance to the retail store operated at 729 S. Kansas Avenue. The building is listed as a non-contributor to the surrounding S. Kansas Avenue Commercial Historic District, yet does reflect the historic character embodied within the District.

Staff is recommending a finding that the proposed sign, mounted onto the lower storefront façade of this building located at 729 S. Kansas Avenue, will NOT damage or destroy the historical integrity of the contributing structure, nor will damage or destroy the historic integrity of the surrounding South Kansas Avenue Commercial Historic District.
