Regarding the Civic District, I’m disappointed that the landscaping on the depressed portion of I-70 has not been maintained adequately. Several shrubs and small trees died and were not replace. I would like to see some showy spring and fall color on parts of the slopes, such as redbud trees, daffodil and daylily flower beds and red maples, if these are survivable at this location. I think it would make for a first-look favorable impression of Topeka.
